Reduce Energy Consumption
- Use power strips and switch them off if you aren’t using them. Electronics can leech energy even when not in use!
- Switch to energy efficient light bulbs.
- Run appliances during “off-peak” hours which can reduce peak energy demand and the power company might charge less during these hours!
- Replace old appliances with energy efficient models.
- Install solar panels.

- Repair leaky faucets which can waste more than 30,000 gallons of water a year if it drips once a second according to the EPA!
- Upgrade your toilet to an energy efficient model.
- Install low-flow shower heads and eco-friendly faucets.
- Use a rain barrel to water your plants.
Make Eco-Friendly Swaps
- Instead of single use plastic use reusable cups, plates, forks, straws, bags, and wraps.
- When buying cleaning supplies try an eco-friendly product.
- Use reusable shopping bags.
- Plant a garden and compost food waste to feed it.
- Purchase used items and buy thrifted or vintage.
- Donate or sell old clothing instead of throwing it out.
